The American low-cost airline Frontier Airlines plans to offer 'First Class-like' seats for the first time starting in 2025, as announced by the company last Tuesday. These new, luxurious seats will be available in the first two rows of their aircraft and aim to expand the existing offerings with an 'unparalleled combination of luxury and value' without giving up the characteristic low price.
There is a special highlight for the most loyal customers: 'Elite Gold' status members, achieved by collecting more than 20,000 points on Frontier flights, will enjoy a free upgrade to the new premium seats. Frontier CEO Barry Biffle sees this as a significant step in the airline’s evolution towards 'The New Frontier.' According to CNBC, this new service is just one of many initiatives to make premium options, desired by customers, more accessible, and to increase revenue to over $500 million by 2028.
In addition to this innovation, Elite Gold members will be entitled to free seat upgrades on every flight starting next year, while Platinum and Diamond Elite members may even bring a companion for free. As part of the 'Frontier Miles' loyalty program, starting in 2025, customers will also benefit from perks such as priority boarding and free seat reservations in advance.
Although Frontier Airlines is known for its low airfares, often lower than those of other major airlines, there are additional fees for certain services. These include carrying hand luggage, which can cost between $30 and $99, as well as extra charges for overweight baggage. Additionally, passengers also pay for amenities such as food and beverages on board. Modern Financial Markets Data
