After nearly a decade at the helm of the company, James Snee announced his resignation as CEO of Hormel Foods effective at the end of 2025. The company, known for its Skippy peanut butter, also announced that Snee will serve as a strategic advisor to the board for up to 18 months after his departure while the search for a successor is underway. James Snee, who also serves as president and chairman of the board of directors, has been part of Hormel since 1989. As early as 2011, he took over the leadership of the international division and successfully advanced the expansion of the company's global portfolio. The news of Snee's impending retirement comes at a time when Hormel is facing declining demand for its products and falling turkey prices. Last December, Hormel predicted sales and profits for the fiscal year 2025 below analysts' estimates.
