Former FTX manager Ryan Salame has requested a postponement of his prison sentence to undergo a necessary surgery following a dog attack. Salame was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison.
Originally, Salame was scheduled to begin his sentence in federal prison on August 29 after pleading guilty to violating campaign finance regulations and operating as a financial service provider without a license. These offenses are related to the multi-billion-dollar collapse of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX.
The conviction and guilty plea follow an intensive investigation into the practices and financial irregularities that led to FTX's collapse.
