Disney launches comprehensive toy collection campaign for children in need

The Walt Disney Company has launched its comprehensive toy collection initiative this year, the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive. This supports the Marine Toys for Tots program, which has achieved remarkable success in gifting children in need during the Christmas season. As part of this campaign, Disney brands such as ESPN, ABC, and the Disney Theatrical Group are making every effort to raise awareness and encourage participation. Good Morning America conducted an exclusive interview, highlighting three unsung heroes of the campaign: Sergeant Christos Toromanides, GypC Serna, and Staff Sergeant Xavier Montaie. Toromanides, a childhood cancer survivor, once received a toy from Toys for Tots while he was in the hospital. Serna tirelessly advocates for needy children in Texas, following the tradition of her father, who served in World War II. Montaie now leads the Toys for Tots location in Ohio, which once supported him as a child. All three are passionately committed to the initiative in their free time. A central component of the campaign is the newly produced Disney PSA "Dear Santa." Narrated by Gina Rodriguez and featuring a special Marine appearance, it tells the heartwarming story of a girl seeking to spread joy. The spot will be widely aired on Disney channels and streaming platforms, such as ABC, Disney+, and Hulu. Lisa Haines, Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility at Disney, emphasized the pride in collaborating with Toys for Tots and passing on Walt Disney's legacy of joy. The President of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Lieutenant General Jim Laster, also highlighted the enormous need for support this year and saw Disney's engagement as a crucial help in fulfilling the dreams of disadvantaged children.
