With an impressive running game and a confident offense, the Arizona Cardinals triumphed over the New England Patriots and continue to compete in the race for the NFC West. James Conner became the hero of the day as he secured the 30-17 victory with 110 yards and two touchdowns, thus ending the drought of three consecutive losses.
Particularly in the final quarter, Conner demonstrated nerves of steel, scoring two touchdowns from a yard out, marking the highlight of the game. Alongside quarterback Kyler Murray, who completed 23 of 30 passes for 224 yards, Arizona dominated the game and surpassed New England in total yards with 395 to 311.
On the Patriots' side, young quarterback Drake Maye showed a respectable performance despite his inexperience, completing 19 of 23 passes for 202 yards, including one touchdown and one interception. Rhamondre Stevenson contributed the majority of the Patriots' ground offense with 69 yards on 13 attempts.
Although Arizona is still 1.5 games behind the Seattle Seahawks, hopes for the playoffs remain, despite losing both seasonal matchups against Seattle, which could be disadvantageous in a tiebreaker scenario. The Cardinals got serious in the first quarter when former Patriots kicker Chad Ryland opened the scoring with a 49-yard field goal, and Jonah Williams capitalized on a game-changing fumble by Greg Dortch in the end zone for a 10-0 lead.
With further precise field goals, Ryland extended the lead, while the Patriots struggled to get into the game through Joey Slye's 50-yard field goal. Although New England temporarily closed the gap with Maye's pass to DeMario Douglas, Conner's second touchdown sealed the victory. Modern Financial Markets Data
