Chinese Embassy in London Calls for Restraint from British Politicians

The diplomatic tensions between the United Kingdom and China have reached a new dimension. The trigger for the latest confrontation is the decision by the British authorities to deny entry to a Chinese businessman with close ties to Prince Andrew. The businessman, Yang Tengbo, whose activities were addressed in the High Court decision, was excluded on national security grounds. This measure met with strong criticism from Beijing, led by the Chinese embassy in London, which demanded that British politicians avoid slander. In a session of the British House of Commons on Monday, not only Yang Tengbo and his lobbying were discussed, but also the role of the United Front Work Department of the Chinese Communist Party. A parliamentary committee suspects this department of having deeply penetrated the British economy. Amidst the heated debate, the Chinese representation's demand remains to exercise diplomatic restraint to prevent a possible escalation of tensions between the two countries.
