The former BP CEO Bernard Looney is returning to the spotlight, but in a new industry. The American data infrastructure specialist Prometheus Hyperscale announced that Looney will assume the chairmanship of the company. Following his resignation in 2023 at BP, due to not fully disclosed personal relationships, Looney will now assist Prometheus Hyperscale with strategic alignment and expanding growth plans.
In his new role, Looney will play a central part in advancing Prometheus's prestigious $10 billion data center in Evanston, Wyoming. His enthusiasm for the upcoming challenges and opportunities is palpable, as he revealed in an interview with the Financial Times: "I am looking forward to the new opportunities and tasks that lie ahead of me."
In May of this year, Prometheus Hyperscale entered into a partnership with the nuclear energy company Oklo, which is supported by Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI. This collaboration provides the company with expertise in sustainable energy solutions and brings fresh momentum to the data industry. Modern Financial Markets Data
