Apple has ambitious plans for its future iPhone models. According to the Japanese business newspaper Nikkei, the tech giant will exclusively use organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays in all its iPhone models starting in 2025. This move marks the company's final departure from liquid crystal displays (LCDs). Unfortunately, this strategic decision signifies the end of business relationships between Apple and the Japanese companies Sharp and Japan Display concerning the iPhone. Consequently, both firms will no longer serve as display suppliers for Apple handsets. For the upcoming iPhone SE, Apple has already begun ordering OLED displays from the Chinese and South Korean manufacturers BOE Technology and LG Display, according to Nikkei, citing multiple component suppliers.
