UBS loses another advisory team to competitors
UBS loses another multi-billion dollar advisory team to competitor RBC Wealth Management, increasing the pressure on the Swiss bank’s wealth management division.
The Swiss major bank UBS faces another departure in its wealth management division. RBC Wealth Management, the wealth management unit of investment bank RBC Capital Markets, announced on Thursday that a 15-member advisory team, which managed $2.8 billion in assets at UBS, has moved to its office in Atlanta. The team, known as the "770 Group," includes five advisors and ten other staff members.
This departure is part of a series of losses for UBS. Just last week, another team of advisors managing assets worth $2.7 billion moved to Morgan Stanley's new wealth management complex in New York.
A spokeswoman for UBS declined to comment on the recent departures. These developments raise questions about the long-term competitiveness of UBS in the wealth management segment, which is crucial for the bank.
In SIX trading, UBS shares reacted to the news and temporarily fell by 1.05 percent to 25.38 Swiss francs.
