The Heidelberg Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation on initial suspicion of sexual harassment against a former executive of the software company SAP. Authorities confirmed this on Thursday.
The name in question has not yet been publicly disclosed, and the public prosecutor's office was not available for further inquiries.
According to media reports, the man allegedly approached a female employee inappropriately at a company event. A SAP spokesperson explained that the company is aware of the incident and is fully supporting the investigative authorities. Neither SAP nor the authorities have disclosed further details or names.
The investigations are being led by the Heidelberg Public Prosecutor's Office in collaboration with the Special Department for Sexual Offenses of the Heidelberg Criminal Police Directorate.
Whether the investigations will lead to sufficient grounds for suspicion is currently unclear," it said in a statement. For the time being, the affected person is considered innocent.
