The former Microsoft engineer Brodeur-Urbas and Rahul Behal, a former developer at Amazon Web Services, have nevertheless recognized the potential in specialized AI applications. These considerations led to the founding of Gumloop, a platform that automates repetitive workflows through AI. Initially started as a small project in a bedroom in Vancouver, it quickly grew into a startup. Gumloop offers a workflow toolkit that can be integrated with third-party applications like GitHub, Gmail, and Outlook. Users can design automated processes or choose from pre-made solutions. Meanwhile, teams from companies like Instacart and Rippling rely on Gumloop to operate various applications. The market for automation tools is highly competitive, with vendors such as Parabola, Tines, Induced AI, and Nanonets. However, Brodeur-Urbas plans to keep Gumloop efficient with a small team of no more than ten people. The company recently concluded a $17 million funding round and plans to move to San Francisco. Even though the money wouldn't have been necessary according to Brodeur-Urbas, it will help to further develop and scale the product.
