Oracle and NTT DATA Japan: New Boost for the Clouds on the Horizon

NTT DATA Japan, a leading company in the field of digital business and IT services and part of the NTT Group, has chosen Oracle Alloy to accelerate the adoption of cloud services in Japan. Oracle Alloy is deployed in NTT DATA Japan’s data centers, providing customers with access to over 150 Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services, including the latest AI features. This strategic alliance is aimed at particularly meeting the requirements for data sovereignty and compliance. Oracle Alloy is a comprehensive cloud infrastructure solution that enables Oracle partners to become cloud service providers themselves. With implementation in two data centers, NTT DATA Japan can expand its own offering under the name OpenCanvas. OpenCanvas will leverage the most advanced OCI features and offer both infrastructure and platform services as well as cloud-native development tools. Future expansions for OpenCanvas are planned for the Japan East region by the end of December 2025 and in the Japan West region by the end of March 2027. Hiroshi Tomiyasu, Director and Executive Vice President of NTT DATA Japan, emphasized the importance of this partnership for the company's new data strategy. The goal is to advance the use of cloud and data infrastructures while strengthening the global competitiveness of Japanese customers. Custom-developed, tailored cloud-based services will continue to be offered to meet the specific needs of the industry. Oracle Alloy helps ensure data storage within Japan, which complies with regulatory requirements. Future plans include integrating innovative technologies from the NTT Group, including the IOWN initiative and the large language model "tsuzumi," to further promote data utilization.
