Joey Chestnut sets new world record in hot dog eating contest

Joey Chestnut, known as the legendary hot dog eating champion since 2005, has not yet surpassed his peak even after almost 20 years and countless hot dogs. By consuming 83 hot dogs in just 10 minutes, Chestnut set a new world record and defeated his long-time rival Takeru Kobayashi. Although Kobayashi managed 67 hot dogs in 10 minutes, he had to concede to Chestnut. After the triumphant victory, Chestnut enthusiastically declared: "It's incredible. I have been trying to break the 80 hot dog mark for years, and I could never have done it without Kobayashi. He motivates me. We haven't always been kind to each other, but we push each other to achieve great things." Kobayashi began his career in 2001 and has faced Chestnut numerous times over two decades. At 46 years old, Kobayashi is five years older than the 40-year-old Chestnut. Chestnut can look back on 16 victories at Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, while Kobayashi, with six titles, lags significantly behind him.
