Hiverge conquers the algorithm world with AI technology: Funding round successfully completed

The Cambridge-based start-up Hiverge, founded by former scientists from Google DeepMind, has raised $5 million in a seed funding round to advance its AI-driven code optimization technology. The company's innovative platform, called "The Hive," aims to open new possibilities for businesses through automated algorithm design, extending beyond the capabilities of human engineers. The initiators of this visionary development are Alhussein Fawzi and Bernardino Romera-Paredes, supported by Hamza Fawzi, a professor at the University of Cambridge. They had previously played a significant role in building the Google project AlphaEvolve. Alhussein Fawzi, CEO of Hiverge, emphasizes the importance of "intelligent algorithms" that go beyond existing solutions—and do so automatically. Customers can submit requests for code improvement on the platform, where tailor-made algorithms are generated using program synthesis. In contrast to "vibe coding," which targets hobby users, Hiverge focuses on enhancing the quality of backend code for engineers. Fawzi describes the system as a more reliable tool that operates beyond mere user prompts. Since late 2024, Hiverge has been actively working on business models and exploring new application areas with proof-of-concepts. The platform is intended to be licensed in the future to maximize the reach of the innovative technology. The funding round was supported by Flying Fish Ventures and other renowned investors, including Ahren Innovation Capital and Jeff Dean, Chief Scientist at Google. According to Alhussein Fawzi, the fundraising was remarkably quick. The new funds are intended to be invested in market launch, product development, and expansion of research capabilities, helping Hiverge to continue its ambitious growth.
