Citigroup has recruited Adam Inzirillo from Cboe Global Markets to lead the cash and futures execution platform within the bank's equity division, according to a person familiar with the matter. In his new role, Inzirillo will oversee Citi's electronic trading platform, with a focus on trading algorithms and direct market access offerings. He will join the company in October as the global head of the equity execution platform and report to Sebastien Mailleux, the global co-head of Prime Services. Inzirillo joined Cboe in 2019 as head of U.S. equities and was promoted to global head of data and access solutions in 2023 as part of a leadership restructuring. Citi’s equity market revenue rose 6% year-over-year in the second quarter to $1.6 billion, supported by a surge in the Prime Services business, which targets hedge funds. The Prime Services division experienced record volumes in the second quarter, rising nearly 27% year-over-year. Bloomberg News first reported on this appointment earlier on Friday.
