With a comprehensive expansion of functions, OpenAI positions itself more strongly as an infrastructure provider for knowledge-intensive business applications. The AI service ChatGPT receives new interfaces to cloud services like Google Drive, SharePoint, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Box. This allows the AI to directly access internal company files to answer specific inquiries more thoroughly – for example, when analyzing pitch decks or creating investment theses.

In addition, OpenAI introduces automatic recording and transcription of meetings. In addition to time-stamped notes and action suggestions, so-called canvas documents can be created directly from meetings – a format that combines writing and coding. These functions are modeled on established offerings like Zoom, Notion, or ClickUp but stand out with seamless AI integration and greater data context depth.

Also new is the beta version of "Deep Research" connectors for tools like HubSpot, Linear, as well as selected Microsoft and Google applications. This allows for the creation of structured reports based on company-specific data and web content. Additionally, business customers with Pro, Team, or Enterprise licenses have access to the new Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect ChatGPT with their own research and analysis tools.

The strategic direction is clear: OpenAI wants to establish ChatGPT as a productive core component in work environments - not as a tool, but as a platform. With three million paying business customers, an increase of one million within three months, OpenAI is growing in this segment faster than many specialized competitors like Notion or the Lux Capital-backed startup Context.
