The company is headquartered in Quebec City, but owns and operates properties in many provinces across Canada. Cominar's business model is to acquire, develop, and manage first-class properties for office, retail, and industrial applications. As a real estate investment trust, Cominar does not have to pay income tax as a company and instead distributes its profits to its shareholders. The company operates in various sectors, with office properties being the largest followed by retail and industrial properties. It also owns and manages residential properties and parking lots. As of 2020, Cominar owned 371 buildings with a total rentable area of 34.8 million square feet.
