The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Initiates Investigations into Aircraft Manufacturer Boeing, as indicated by a report from the news agency Bloomberg. The examination is focused on the company's communication concerning its safety policy after an incident with a Boeing 737-9 Max of Alaska Airlines in January. During this incident, a fragment of the fuselage broke away near row 26 shortly after takeoff, fortunately with no passengers seated in the affected area and the flight remaining at low altitude, thus no serious damages occurred.

The SEC is investigating whether statements by Boeing and its managers may have been misleading and thus violated Wall Street regulations. Such investigations do not always result in actions against the company but can lead to penalties if false or misleading information is confirmed.

This legal pressure intensifies the already existing challenges for Boeing, negatively affecting investor sentiment. In the current year, Boeing's stock has lost almost a third of its value. Despite the serious news situation, the market reacted comparatively mildly to the new developments. After a slight pressure on the stock price, the securities closed on Thursday with a slight gain and recorded a minimal increase of 0.01 percent to 181.26 US dollars in NYSE trading on Friday.

The incidents and the resulting investigations highlight the ongoing risks and challenges that Boeing faces, particularly with regard to compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining safety and transparency towards investors and the public.
